Senior Research Technician
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is a leading organization in cancer research and treatment, and they are seeking a Senior Research Technician to join their Targeted Protein Degradation Proteomics Core. This role involves employing mass spectrometry-based technologies to assess the cellular proteome and collaborating with various team members on research projects focused on targeted protein degradation.

Responsibilities
Responsible for cell culture and performing drug treatments
Perform proteomics sample preparation including cell lysis, digestion, peptide cleanup (e.g., S-Trap, SP3), and labeling (e.g., TMT)
Run samples on LC-MS systems (e.g., Orbitrap, timsTOF) following standard protocols
Support routine QC checks and instrument maintenance under staff supervision
Maintain accurate and well-organized lab notebooks and sample metadata
Collaborate with core users to ensure timely sample processing and communication
Assist in the implementation of new protocols and improvements to existing workflows
Help train junior staff and contribute to a clean and safe laboratory environment
Maintains and orders laboratory supplies
Communicates with purchasing and may be responsible for negotiating with vendors
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree with 1+ year's of relevant experience required
Experience in a mass spectrometry or molecular biology lab (academic or industry)
Experience operating Thermo and/or Bruker mass spectrometers is required
Experience in mass spectrometry data analysis and quantitative methods
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs
Preferred
Master's degree preferred
Experience with mammalian cell culture and proteomics sample preparation is preferred
Knowledge of statistical and computational methods and R programming is preferred
Knowledge of proteomics data analysis software, including Proteome Discoverer, DIANN, spectronaut
