Mining
Responsibilities
Regularly visits sites and conducts inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards
Ensures that the quality of safety documents such as risk assessments, pre-start checklists, inspections and permits is of a high standard and reflects reality
Supervises the creation and delivery of safety training programs educating employees on safe working practices, appropriate equipment operation, and emergency procedures
Conducts regular interactions to ensure that procedures are followed and that knowledge is transferred to employees as required
Assesses impact of training programs on organizational safety or accident rates, and suggests modifications to training curriculum as needed
Investigates incidents or accidents, gathers and analyzes statistics, and makes recommendations for improvements
Liaises frequently with the client and attends safety meetings as required
Prepares and submits reports and investigations in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements
Ensures that sites meet leading and lagging KPI targets and develops plans if targets are not met
Ensures that BLYs EHS fundamentals are being followed
Hire review, coach, and develop the position of safety specialist. Monitoring work, adherence to policy and safety requirements
Other duties as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in related field or at least 7 years of experience in mining, or previous military experience is beneficial
3 Years of Experience in the Drilling industry or similar industrial contract service organization
3-5 Year experience supervising or managing EHST professionals
Ability to Foster Teamwork
