Serve as a technical leader on the most demanding, cross-functional projects
Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions
Fully and completely understand system inter-dependencies and limitations
Possess expert knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices
Assist in the career development of others, actively mentoring individuals and the community on advanced technical issues and helping managers guide the career growth of their team members
Balance technical leadership and savvy with strong business judgment to make the right decisions about technology choices
Exert technical influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience
Be a builder and an operator
Qualification
Required
15+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
Experience with object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
Experience owning tech strategy, end to end delivery, and partnering with senior leadership
Proven ability to provide technical and strategic oversight for a high-performing global team of hundreds of engineers
10+ years of mentoring and growing engineers
Preferred
20+ years of deep hands-on technical expertise in building complex distributed systems
Experience solving customer and technical problems with durable, scalable solutions over multi-year, multi-billion dollar, and multi-organization impact
Desire and ability to inspire and influence at all levels, from engineering graduates, to VPs, SVPs, and CTOs
Published research or patents in relevant technical areas
Master's or PhD preferred
