Responsibilities

Provide direct care to developmentally disabled individuals
Care for adults who are medically fragile and have significant intellectual, developmental & physical disabilities
Provide treatment with dignity and respect
Offer choices and options that support individuality
Perform vital sign monitoring and provide direct patient care, including Foley catheter, tracheostomy, and G-tube care
Assist with treatments such as applying ointments and managing colostomy bags

Required

High School or General Educational Development diploma
Good standing with the NC Health Care Personnel Registry
Successful completion of training through Staff Development department including NCI (North Carolina Intervention), CPR, Body Mechanics and lifting
Ability to perform frequent lifting and bending
Listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation
As applicable, listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
As applicable, North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification

Preferred

A valid Driver's License
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals, staff and others
Demonstrated ability to maintain a professional and even-tempered demeanor and work relationships
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of the team
Ability to learn behavior management and supportive counseling techniques
Demonstrated ability to communicate observations and recommendations effectively in written and verbal form
Ability to perform vital sign monitoring and provide direct patient care, including Foley catheter, tracheostomy, and G-tube care, as well as assistance with treatments such as applying ointments and managing colostomy bags

Benefits

A Sign-on bonus of $2,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.
