Responsibilities

Design and develop tooling and fixtures for precision target fabrication and assembly
Collaborate with materials scientists and process engineers to improve target integrity and throughput
Perform mechanical testing and reliability assessments for bonding and assembly processes
Support development of automation systems for high-volume production of fusion targets
Interface with vendors, external partners, and internal teams to qualify materials and components

Required

BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field

Hands-on experimental and prototyping experience

Preferred

Experience with cryogenic or high-pressure systems
Background in fusion target manufacturing or aerospace hardware assembly
Knowledge of automation, robotics, or metrology systems
