Mechanical Designer I

The Mechanical Designer will contribute to the design and development of mechanical systems and components, collaborating with engineers to create efficient designs that meet project specifications.
Manufacturing
Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical components and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and constraints
Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and bills of materials
Conduct analysis and simulations to validate designs and ensure functionality and performance
Participate in team reviews to understand design intent and specifications
Review and modify designs based on feedback and testing results
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design-related issues during the manufacturing process
Support project management efforts by tracking design progress and meeting deadlines
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance design processes
Qualification
Required
Proficiency in SolidWorks; familiarity with AutoCAD
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and materials
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Collaborative spirit; good communication skills
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations
Attention to detail and eagerness to learn
Associate's degree in mechanical design
3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Equivalent combination of training and experience
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods while working at a desk or computer
Capacity to use standard office equipment such as computer, telephone, and videoconferencing
Capacity to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, ear protection, and hard hat as needed
Ability to tolerate exposure to moderate levels of noise, vibration, and varying temperatures in a manufacturing environment
Ability to follow health and safety guidelines and protocols including emergency procedures
Regular, predictable attendance is required
Must be authorized to work in the United States and adhere to CMD's confidentiality agreement(s)
