People and Culture Internship, Spring 2026 (Based in Washington, DC)

Markham is a consulting company looking for a People and Culture Intern for Spring 2026. The intern will support the People & Culture team in various functions including recruiting, onboarding, and employee engagement within a creative events environment.

Events Services

Responsibilities

Support recruiting and onboarding efforts, including posting positions, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates
Assist in planning and coordinating training and development programs
Help design and implement employee engagement initiatives and recognition programs
Provide project and administrative support for performance management cycles
Contribute creative ideas to enhance employee communications, internal events, and team culture
Maintain confidentiality and uphold professionalism in all HR-related work
Gain exposure to HR technology systems, including HRIS and ATS platforms, supporting data accuracy and process improvement

Required

Junior or senior standing in a bachelor's degree program (Human Resources, Business, Communications, or related field preferred)

Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
A creative and outgoing personality with a passion for people and collaboration
Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) or similar tools
