Post Doctoral Research Associate Fermentation/Molecular Biology
The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) is seeking applications for a Post-Doctoral Position in Fermentation/Molecular Microbiology. This role involves conducting research in alcohol fermentation and molecular microbiology while also engaging in departmental activities and preparing scientific manuscripts for publication.

Responsibilities
Develop research protocols and conduct field trips for sample collection and procurement
Perform laboratory basic, molecular microbiological analysis, and data analysis using statistical software such as SAS
Prepare scientific manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals
Prepare posters and oral presentations for scientific conferences
Assist in other research projects and departmental activities
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
PhD. in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field
Enthusiasm for conducting research in the field as well as in the lab
Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred
Prior experience in fermentation-related work and Lactobacillus spp. Handling
Previous working experience in a BSL 2 facility
