Systems Maintenance Technician II

Responsibilities
Respond promptly and directly to work requests
Diagnose, initiate, and complete minor mechanical, electric, and plumbing repairs in County Government facilities
Receive and close-out work requests by computer and/or hand-held electronic device
Inspect facilities and report HVAC, plumbing, and electrical problems or unsafe conditions
Routinely meet with County employees and supervisors when responding to work requests
Provide superior customer service at all times
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Two (2) years of related work experience in MEP trades (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), safety and security systems, or vehicle maintenance depending on assigned area
Equivalent combination of education and experience
This position requires criminal, credit, and DMV background checks, to include criminal justice information system (CJIS) fingerprinting
A valid driver's license and good driving record are required (driving records may be reviewed annually for continued qualification)
Must hold or obtain CFC license (universal refrigerant recovery) and forklift license within six (6) months of hire
Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and lift up to 70 lbs
Some work may be hazardous due to location or type of work
Must be available to respond to County emergencies (24/7) as directed in accordance with Department policy and written or verbal directive
Requires on-call response to out-of-hour emergency/priority work requests on a rotating basis at one-week intervals approximately every six (6) weeks
This position is considered 'essential'
Preferred
Prefer one to two years of Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience
Prefer Community College HVAC & Refrigeration Program certificate (one-year program)
Prefer a state-issued Journeyman level certification
Prefer additional certifications such as AWS welding, North American Technician Excellence (NATE) Master Level, Skills USA, and/or specialized systems manufacturer trainings
