Responsibilities

Aseptic transfer of tests, categorizing incoming customer tests, performing Gram stain technique to verify positive test results
Maintain accurate customer records
Follows the laboratory procedure for testing samples including
Sorting envelopes into single and double strips packs
Label the envelopes and perform data entry
Transferring of spore strips
Pulling and recording of positive samples
Various day-to-day preparation of lab supplies
Proficient at property software
Adheres to Laboratory quality control policies
Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results
Establish and maintain effective working relationships
All other assigned duties including
Opening mail
Cleaning of laboratory and office areas
Mail pick-up and counting
Restock supplies
Prep gram stains and view positives
Archive transferred envelopes

Required

1+ years' related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a laboratory operation or technical/scientific field
Basic computer competency

Ability to function as part of a team

Preferred

Some knowledge of aseptic laboratory techniques
Microscope familiarity
