Responsibilities

Lead an active extramurally funded research program focused on central /cortical mechanisms of auditory and/or vestibular function
Collaborate with NIH-funded investigators within the Hearing and Balance group
Participate in the Department of Otolaryngology’s NIDCD R25 training program
Join the UC-AMC’s Neuroscience Graduate Training Program
Establish transformative translational research programs
Engage with affiliated Faculty within the Departments of Bioinformatics and Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

Required

Ph.D., MD, or MD/Ph.D. degree
3+ years post Ph.D. fellowship training or equivalent training in research (for Assistant Professor)
4+ years of experience at Assistant Faculty rank or equivalent research scientist rank (for Associate Professor)
7+ years of experience at Associate Faculty rank or equivalent research scientist rank (for Professor)
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt easily to change
Great attention to detail and quality
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other faculty and staff at all levels throughout the institution
Willingness to contribute to departmental teaching and service needs
Strong history of collaboration
Strong record of peer-reviewed academic publications
Clear plan for independent research and funding

Preferred

The ideal candidate will hold an active extramurally funded research program focused on central / cortical mechanisms of auditory and/or vestibular function using cutting edge techniques such as in vivo Ca2+ imaging, electrophysiology, bioengineering and/or computational approaches
