Regional Recruitment Spec - Chicago

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking a Regional Recruitment Specialist based in the Chicago area to promote the university to prospective students and their families. This role involves creating and implementing strategic outreach efforts, representing the university at various events, and interpreting admission and financial aid policies.

Responsibilities

Create, implement, and assess UNL's strategic outreach efforts in assigned territory
Represent UNL at high school visits, college fairs, community college visits, and other external events
Interpret admission, financial aid, and university policy to the general public
Travel extensively during peak times, including many nights and weekends

Required

Bachelor's degree required
Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements
Must have: excellent communication and organizational skills, public speaking experience, ability to work independently, and demonstrated ability to think inclusively about interactions and programs
Ability to relate to people of all age groups, academic abilities and cultures
Experience with word processing, database, spreadsheet and presentation software necessary
Must have ability to manage multiple priorities and complete assigned projects on time

Preferred

Extensive campus or community involvement as an undergraduate preferred
Experience working as a student recruitment ambassador or tour guide in Admissions, Housing, Orientation leader, or an academic college desirable
Customer service experience Use of data to analyze happenings and to make recommendations for future work
Experience with extensive travel helpful
Ability to analyze data
