Responsibilities

Develop innovative bridge designs and rehabilitation projects for high-profile clients and initiatives, from concept to construction
Contribute to a supportive and engaging work environment to deliver high-quality projects on schedule, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and attention to detail
Take ownership of project scopes and budgets, with the goal of successful delivery and client satisfaction
Preparation of contract bid documents and involvement in construction phase services, playing a key role from concept to completion
Collaborate with subconsultants
Mentor entry-level design engineers and drafters, to ensure high-quality client-focused deliverables
Converse with clients and establish relationships built on trust and reputation

Structural design principlesLicensed Professional EngineerAASHTO LRFD bridge designCivil Engineering degreeTeam-oriented environmentCommunication skillsMentoring skills

Required

Ability to develop the structural design of engineering and construction projects under the guidance of a Project Manager for varying levels of complexity and scope
Knowledge of structural design principles for steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete for structural components
Ability to work on multiple projects in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
Strong communication skills for design team and client interactions
BS or MS in Civil Engineering from a 4-year accredited university
10+ years of relevant experience in structural design
Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Maryland or the ability to obtain reciprocity quickly
Experience with AASHTO LRFD bridge design

Preferred

MS in Civil Engineering
Experience working with the Maryland Department of Transportation
2 years of experience leading design engineers and drafting personnel
