Commercial Account Executive

Starkweather & Shepley Insurance Brokerage Inc. is seeking a Commercial Account Executive to support the production team and provide high-level client servicing. The role involves managing client accounts, assisting in policy reviews and renewals, and maintaining long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

Handle all facets of accounts as designated by the assigned (Sr.) Commercial Risk Advisor, fully communicate ALL/ANY potential issues to the assigned (Sr.) Commercial Risk Advisor and accept guidance/direction from assigned (Sr.) Commercial Risk Advisor as needed
Conduct current policy review with (Sr.) Commercial Risk Advisor
Assist in gathering prospective client information by meeting with the client, collect or manage information such as loss runs, prepare ACORD applications for market submission and answer questions from marketing team
Ensure ITVs are as accurate as possible
Prepare for and gather pre-renewal information by meeting with each client, collect or manage renewal information such as loss runs, prepare ACORD applications for market submission and answer questions from marketing team
Assists (Sr.) Commercial Risk Advisor with renewal premium negotiations with underwriter and obtains quotes via carrier portals or online submission platforms if appropriate
Sends Producer fact sheet to (Sr.) Commercial Risk Advisor
Uses Sagitta to create renewal application
Submits renewal to incumbent carrier
Maintains the diary system
Review quotes, assist with preparation and presentation of new and renewal proposals, quotes, and presentations (oral and written), follow up letters, etc
Imports presented final proposal into ImageRight
Issue binders & invoices
Completes policy checking on items returned from PATRA, responsible for review of contracts and certificates
May be required to attend client meetings, training, and conferences
Initiate referrals to other departments as needed
Achieve trusted advisor status with clients and (Sr.) Account Managers
Respond to questions regarding policy checking discrepancies
Maintain contact with Carriers
Attend professional procedure meetings, general, client retention and Marketing meetings
Serve as back up to (Sr.) Account Managers when requested
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Fluency in MS Office products
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Strong knowledge of insurance coverage and terminology
Must be detail oriented and organized
Ability to multitask and operate in an ever-changing environment is critical
Ability to work well in a team environment
Ability to communicate clearly, to work well with others, and to manage time effectively
Ability to effectively communicate with clients and attend client-facing meetings, in-person or virtual
Proven record of servicing a book of business with at minimum $750K in revenue
Producer license is Mandatory
Proven experience in account management
Willingness to continue education is essential

Preferred

CIC, CPCU, AAI, or AIS designations preferred
Bachelor's degree in a relative field preferred, or equivalent in work experience
