Responsibilities

Operates various machines as part of the production process to produce parts for the locomotive industry in accordance with AAR, customer specifications, company guidelines and checklists. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with PR safety policies
Operate manual machines including horizontal mills, engine lathes, and manual grinders to produce locomotive motor parts and axles
Use precision gauges and instruments such as micrometers to determine and follow customers specifications
Maintain specifications by observing, drilling, grooving and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes
Adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn tools, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
Operate overhead cranes and forklifts
Perform all duties and responsibilities within time standards allowed
Maintain specifications by observing, drilling, grooving and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls
Sharpening and replacing worn tools, adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
Troubleshoot and repair various machines

Required

Minimum 1-2 years of experience or a relevant technical degree
Ability to operate manual machines including horizontal mills, engine lathes, and manual grinders
Use precision gauges and instruments such as micrometers to determine and follow customer specifications
Maintain specifications by observing, drilling, grooving and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations
Taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes
Adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing worn tools
Adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
Operate overhead cranes and forklifts
Perform all duties and responsibilities within time standards allowed
Physical strength to lift 50lbs
Stamina for working in tight spaces while installing or repairing machinery
Ability to stand for most of the day and frequently walk, squat, kneel, and climb
Ability to read schematics
Strict adherence to safety policies

Preferred

Possess expertise and/or certification in Advanced Welding Techniques
Hold Certification in Non‐Destructive Testing
Possess high level of machining Aptitude
Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
