Strategic Operations Intern – Undergraduate - Spring 2026
The New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) is a public benefit corporation focused on increasing the supply of affordable housing. The Strategic Operations Undergraduate Intern will collaborate with various teams to analyze and manage strategic issues, providing support on projects that impact HDC's operations and policies.

Responsibilities
Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to describe a program or issue's characteristics, challenges, and trends
Research and summarize policies, programs, or statutes
Write short memos describing policy and programmatic options
Build financial models to evaluate programmatic or operational changes
Assess how current tools can be modified or used in novel ways to advance new goals
Identify misalignment between operations and policies that can be addressed to improve outcomes
Provide a sounding board for idea development, stakeholder engagement, and project management
Synthesize existing procedural documents, process flows, and program eligibility requirements
Qualification
Required
Must be pursuing an undergraduate-level degree in any field of study
Preferred
Data analysis skills in at least one analytics framework (e.g., R, Python, Stata, SAS)
Professional experience or coursework in statistics and econometrics, quantitative analysis, real estate finance, housing policy, program design, program implementation, management consulting, or equity research
Financial modeling skills in Excel
