Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice, Internal Medicine -Endocrinology
The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) is focused on advancing healthcare through its Department of Internal Medicine. The Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice in Endocrinology will provide comprehensive care, engage in teaching, and contribute to the academic mission of the department.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive inpatient and/or outpatient endocrinology care, including the management of diabetes, thyroid, pituitary, adrenal, and metabolic disorders
Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and fellows in clinical and didactic settings
Participate in departmental and divisional quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and care coordination
Contribute to curriculum development, clinical training, and academic programming
Qualification
Required
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Board certified or board eligible in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism
Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas
Preferred
Experience in an academic medical center or teaching environment
Demonstrated involvement in scholarly activity, clinical research, or quality improvement projects
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
