Assistant Professor Clinic Practice, Internal Medicine-Nephrology
The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) is seeking a full-time physician at the rank of Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice within the Division of Nephrology. This role emphasizes high-quality clinical care, teaching, and engagement in the academic mission of the department, focusing on comprehensive nephrology care and education.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive inpatient and/or outpatient nephrology care, including management of chronic kidney disease, dialysis, and related conditions
Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and fellows in both clinical and didactic settings
Participate in departmental and divisional quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence-based practice initiatives
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and care coordination
Contribute to curriculum development, clinical training, and academic programming
Qualification
Required
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Board certified or board eligible in Nephrology
Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas
Preferred
Experience in an academic medical center or teaching environment
Demonstrated involvement in scholarly activity, clinical research, or quality improvement projects
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
