Responsibilities

Research, design, evaluate, and develop new safety products through the application of standard engineering principles

Assess cost effectiveness and feasibility of new or improved product designs

Read and interpret drawings, technical specifications, or engineering reports to ensure compliance to internal, or external requirements

Participate in continuous improvement projects related to existing products

Support the production facility during product launches and by addressing manufacturing and production issues

Develop, monitor, and document qualification programs for new and modified products

Supervise prototype builds to ensure accuracy and timely execution

Required

Minimum educational requirements of a BA/BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Minimum experience required includes 1 - 5 years in a related field

Preferred

Experience working with Japanese companies and employees is a plus

Familiarity and knowledge of Six Sigma methods, structural analysis, common engineering procedures (DOE's, FMEA's, GD&T etc.), structured problem-solving techniques, statistical analysis is preferred

Experience in a safety related industry is desired
