Responsibilities
Read and interpret physician orders and transcribe same into pharmacy system
Adjudicate third party claims
Answer telephones, responding to questions and requests
Operate point-of-sale system, maintaining accurate drawer and completing deposits
Order and receive medications to maintain appropriate inventory
Deliver medications to patients
Maintain proper storage and security conditions for medications
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Technician Certification or equivalent must be completed within 18 months of employment
Ability to interpret and perform basic mathematical computations
Preferred
Previous pharmacy technician and or prior healthcare experience strongly preferred
