Responsibilities
Establish and maintain an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) encompassing design milestones, procurement, fabrication, system installation, commissioning, and test phases
Develop short-term lookahead plans and production tracking metrics tied to physical progress in hull, machinery, and system areas
Identify critical-path activities, potential delays, and resource conflicts; provide recommended recovery actions to maintain milestone performance
Maintain and update a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) linking contract specifications, Royal IHC design deliverables, ABS/USCG requirements, and test verification points
Support ESG and TMMG management with weekly progress briefings, risk registers, and performance dashboards
Serve as the on-site liaison for all technical clarifications, RFIs, ECNs, and vendor data inquiries between ESG engineering, Royal IHC, and The Dutra Group
Review system design packages (P&IDs, one-lines, foundation drawings, and interface schematics) for constructability, accuracy, and integration consistency
Verify that vendor and IHC documentation aligns with U.S. standards, ABS class requirements, and ESG’s production capabilities
Track as-built configuration through engineering changes and drawing revisions, ensuring configuration control is maintained from design through trials
Provide hands-on field engineering support to ESG’s production and subcontractor teams during module erection, pipe routing, cable pulls, and equipment installation
Support material takeoffs, resolve field deviations, and provide real-time technical guidance to ensure alignment with design intent
Participate in tagout, inspection, and preservation activities to verify readiness for system completion and testing
Document field discrepancies and coordinate with design engineering for timely resolution
Coordinate daily with OEM suppliers of dredge pumps, drag arms, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and automation controls to ensure proper interface, installation, and commissioning sequencing
Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and verify equipment performance against design and contract requirements
Track delivery schedules for long-lead items, manage punch lists, and verify installation alignment, clearances, and load-out requirements
Develop and maintain a Master Test Index and coordinate all testing—from compartment air tests and alignment checks to dredge system performance trials
Author and review test procedures covering dockside and sea trial events: propulsion, electrical load balance, control system integration, drag arm operation, bottom door sequencing, and pump-ashore performance
Monitor and document system readiness using TMMG’s standardized Test Readiness Review (TRR) process and ensure all tests align with class, flag, and owner acceptance criteria
Participate in and document Dock Trials, Builder’s Sea Trials, and Dredge Performance Trials, verifying measured results against contract guarantees
Ensure compliance with all ABS, U.S. Coast Guard, and environmental regulations relevant to vessel construction and testing
Monitor ESG’s implementation of environmental controls for dredging equipment—turbidity discharge, overflow management, and wash water containment
Participate in HAZIDs, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and risk assessments associated with dredge system testing, high-energy systems, and deck operations
Compile and manage technical documentation for all major systems: equipment manuals, vendor data books, test records, and spares inventories
Support ESG and Dutra in developing operational readiness deliverables, including maintenance plans, spare parts listings, and crew training outlines
Validate system readiness for delivery and assist with commissioning reports, closeout documentation, and warranty tracking post-delivery
Qualification
Required

Experience with ABS class surveys, system inspections, and documentation requirements
Working knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar scheduling tools
Excellent coordination, communication, and field engineering problem-solving skills
Able to interpret and apply design drawings, vendor documents, and technical specifications
Preferred
Prior experience with trailing suction hopper dredges, dredge pumps, or offshore hydraulic systems
Familiarity with Royal IHC equipment or dredging automation/control systems
Experience in performance trials, testing documentation, and quality management processes
Understanding of environmental compliance and dredge performance metrics (yd³/hr, cycle time, pump curves)
U.S. Coast Guard, Navy, or commercial shipyard construction background
