Responsibilities
Manage functionality, configuration, efficiency, and maintenance of physical and virtual servers, including lab environments
Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, and diagnostics using enterprise tools such as Nagios, SolarWinds, or similar
Execute and manage software updates, OS patching, and vendor-supplied upgrades
Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting
Support network interface configuration and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
Conduct systems analysis and proactively maintain systems with evolving technologies
Implement and promote security compliance procedures and best practices
Create, update, and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system logs
Collaborate cross-functionally to isolate and resolve server issues impacting integrated services
Participate in disaster recovery, backup management, and system performance optimization initiatives
Qualification
Required
U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, plus 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance required at time of hire (U.S. Citizenship required)
Solid understanding of Windows, Linux, and UNIX operating systems
Experience in server and network troubleshooting, performance tuning, and virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, including firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS
Proficient in automation scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) and use of system monitoring tools
Familiar with backup solutions, disaster recovery strategies, and secure system design
