The Airframe Design Engineer is responsible for leading the aerodynamic and structural design of new aircraft from the earliest stages of concept design through prototyping and production.

Responsibilities

Defining and maintaining the aircraft’s physical characteristics, including:

Outer Mold Line (OML)

System Packaging

Structural Components

Aerodynamic components (Propellers, Wings, Control Surfaces)

Performing multidisciplinary design analyses, including the optimization of aerodynamic and structural systems

Executing dynamic load analyses throughout the aircraft flight envelope to define structural requirements

Working with the flight dynamics team to define the aircraft aerodynamic coefficients and characteristics for flight simulation using high fidelity tools
