Academic Clinical Microbiologist

Responsibilities
Serve as the Director of Bacteriology and Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing for UNC Health Care
Provide technical expertise at a health care system level
Work closely with and be a resource for pediatric and adult infectious disease services and hospital epidemiology and infection control
Be a faculty member of the CPEP-accredited post-doctoral fellowship in Medical and Public Health Microbiology
Actively involved in teaching medical students, graduate students, residents, and fellows
Qualification
Required
The candidate must have a PhD, MD or MD/PhD
Board certified or board eligible in Medical Microbiology by either the American Board of Medical Microbiology or the American Board of Pathology
Preferred
Candidates should have a demonstrated record of academic achievement through independent or collaborative research and scholarly publications
