UTILITY SYSTEMS REPAIRER-OPERATOR LEADER

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for assigning task and/or work orders to lower-level workers
You will perform inspections using the proper procedures to identify and report utility deficiencies
You will lead the Utilities Systems Repairer-Operators in performance of controlling, operating, and repairing complex utility systems, like salt water, compressed air, natural gas, sewage, fuel oil, pure water and hot water heating
You will be the Working Leader of Utility System Repairer - Operators in the operation and repair of Mechanical Distribution Systems, like high pressure steam distribution system, condensate return systems, freshwater storage and distribution
You will use independent judgement during emergencies and in handling abnormal conditions with a minimum of supervision

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program

This is a bargaining unit position
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
This position may require lifting and/or carrying 100 lbs
This position may require walking, standing, and climbing
This position may require working in confined spaces
