Responsibilities
Serves as the Chief of Information Management, in the Office of National Policy Management (ONPM), Associate Deputy Director’s Office, Central Office, Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP)
Develops policy for and manages the system-wide inventory and registration of all official BOP records including the information registration of automated data processing systems of the Bureau of Prisons and ensures compliance with external BOP-applicable regulations
Manages the maintenance of the Bureau’s national policy information system and certifies the integrity and authenticity of the information contained in that system
Registers information in both existing and new automated information processing systems. Ensures that all information systems meet the requirements of the Administrative Procedures Act, Paper and Electronic Records under 44 U.S.C., the Paper Reduction Act, the FOIA/Privacy Acts and establishes requirements to publish rules and regulations in the Federal Register and the Code of Federal Regulations for new systems of records
Collects and disseminates BOP policy and procedures throughout the Bureau and when required, to other Department of Justice components such as the Parole Commission, U.S. Marshals, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)

There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this position
You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level
Experience in researching, collecting, developing, evaluating and analyzing information
Knowledge of Federal laws, Privacy, and FOIA acts, Paper Reduction Act, Records and Electronic Record Disposition under 44. U.S.C., as well as the Federal Information Resources Management Regulations
Experience as a Cost Center Manager, providing program guidance and direction with centralized funding for forms, electronic information delivery systems
Experience with data analysis, interactive databases, personal computer operations, statistical software and data processing techniques

Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications
If you are selected for this position and qualified based on education (i.e. basic education requirement and/or substitution of education), you will be required to provide an OFFICIAL transcript prior to your first day on duty
Initial appointment to a supervisory/managerial position requires a one-year probationary period
The incumbent is subject to geographic relocation to meet the needs of the agency
Appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of a urinalysis, physical, and background investigation
All applicants are subject to National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and credit checks
