Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist (Response)

Responsibilities

Overseeing staff responsible for emergency notifications, communication, information dissemination, and the coordination of federal response and recovery efforts for all types of intentional and/or unintentional crises, disasters, other humanitarian emergencies, hazards, or natural and manmade/technological (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, high-yield explosives) incidents
Coordinating key activities to ensure continuity of essential functions during emergencies or incidents
Serves as a senior-level expert on emergency response policy, providing technical guidance and strategic direction to FEMA staff
Implementing emergency response and recovery principles in alignment with federal guidance

Required

One full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-13 level in the Federal government
Coordinating disaster response and/or recovery operations in alignment with the National Response and Recovery Frameworks
Supervising staff and managing performance to meet organizational goals and project deadlines
Developing and implementing policies and procedures to improve compliance, streamline operations and/or support strategic objectives
Must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position
Must successfully pass a background investigation
Selective Service registration required
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government credit card
Must be able to deploy with little or no advance notice to anywhere in the United States and its territories for an extended period of time
