Responsibilities
The Executive Officer coordinates multiple functional specialists within the directorate, ensuring mission objectives and priorities are met. This includes the daily operations of staff and ensuring timely execution of program goals and projects
The XO is responsible for reviewing, recommending revisions, and ensuring accurate coordination. Includes the preparation of key materials for leadership decision-making, ensuring consistency, completeness, and alignment with organizational goals
The XO ensures all necessary stakeholders are identified, involved, and informed during the decision-making process. Streamlines staff tasks, ensuring that all relevant information is communicated accurately and efficiently to leadership
The XO is responsible for supervising staff, managing administrative issues, and overseeing the execution of HQs staff. Develops new policies, manages business processes, and represents DFMWR during internal and external meetings and conferences
The XO provides full supervisory duties, including oversees employee performance, development, conflict resolution, and team-building. They ensure the effective management of morale, welfare, and the professional growth of the directorate HQs staff
Qualification
Required
Ability to interact and deal effectively with all management levels within IMCOM, DA, DoD and other federal agencies. Knowledge of protocol procedures to render proper courtesies to guests, VIPs and dignitaries
Knowledge of operating programs and their interrelationships with one another. Skill in identifying, analyzing and developing course of action and recommendations for resolving management and administrative problems
Knowledge of administrative concepts, principles and practices to perform independent duties to eliminate conflict and duplication in extensive office procedures, determine when new office procedures are needed, study and evaluate new office machines and recommend acceptance
Ability to organize and communicate ideas effectively through written correspondence and oral presentations
Experience leading or mentoring other employees
