Intermediate Care Technician
USAJOBS is seeking an Intermediate Care Technician for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration in Fayetteville, NC. This role involves performing ongoing patient care duties in the Emergency Department, assisting with various clinical tasks and emergency care for patients.

Responsibilities
Performing observation-based screening and collecting patient information in collaboration with licensed personnel
Assisting in behavioral/psychiatric situations in an emergency setting
Assisting ED licensed personnel with the delivery of care to patients with complex, specialized, and potentially life-threatening situations
Initiating cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS) and use of automatic external defibrillator (AED)
Performing clinical tasks including vital signs, point-of-care testing, and wound care
Responding to medical emergencies on the facility grounds as part of the Rapid Response Team
Administering medications in accordance with national and local directives

Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel
English Language Proficiency Requirement: Proficient in basic written and spoken English
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6 level for GS-7 position
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06
A Transcript must be submitted if you are using education as a substitute to qualify for this position
Only education or degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited colleges or institutions may be used to qualify for Federal employment
Preferred
Experience in the military as a Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic or Medical Technician is highly desired
