Supervisory Recreation Specialist (Community Activities) NF-04

Responsibilities
Serves as the manager for the Community Activities Center (CAC) programs and in a dual capacity as Recreation Delivery Program Team leader. Directs, develops and administers plans and procedures to meet the leisure needs of the community
Observes each program area to evaluate effectiveness of leadership and operation, effectiveness of service provided to the community and conformance to operating standards and regulations. Program activities include: Auto Crafts, Arts and Crafts, etc
Responsible for planning and executing of community special events that respond to the needs and interest of the military/civilian population. Special events implemented include community wide events such as yard sales; Snow fest; Comedy Clubs etc
Devises improvises, and adapts activities to the wide range of participants interest and needs considering limitation of funds, facilities, equipment, volunteers, staff support, etc
Submits a cost analysis of special events prior to implementation and after each event. Provides the full range of personnel management responsibilities for subordinate employees. Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Directly related work experience that provided the applicant the ability, knowledge, skills, principles, methods and techniques to plan, organize, coordinate, supervise and evaluate a recreational program
Demonstrated work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level
Serv Safe certification
Alcohol Server Intervention Program (ASIP) certification
Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position
A one-year probationary period may be required
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check
Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation with a medical exam
Work requires the use of physical exertion when preparing for and overseeing events
Must be able to lift and carry light to moderately heavy items
Preferred
Possess at least one (1) year of experience working with MWR Special Events and/or Programming Installation Events
Possess at least one (1) year of experience in a supervisory role working with Food and Beverage, and/or retail or sales
