Responsibilities
Research and development of Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning algorithms
Analyzing performance on predictive models on patient data. Accessing patient records in the context of research while maintaining patient confidentiality and following the HIPAA guidelines
May organize data and other information for studies, perform data cleaning, analyses, and write-ups of qualitative and quantitative data
May prepare and write research results for presentations, publication, and other forms of dissemination

Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP)
You must possess general experience in 1) research and development of Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning algorithm; 2) analyzing the performance of predictive models on patient data and accessing patients' records following HIPAA guidelines
You must possess a degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, or field directly related to the position
The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position
Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of experience and education. Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph 1 above, plus additional education or appropriate experience
