Podiatrist - Deputy Chief of Staff

Responsibilities
The Deputy Chief of Staff works integrally with the Chief of Staff team as a key executive in the planning, execution, oversight and management of this highly complex health care services delivery, educational, and medical research enterprise
Serves as a member of the senior leadership team ensuring that high quality patient care is delivered to our Veterans and that facility programs reflect the mission and priorities of the VA
Has direct oversight of clinical and research services in the achievement of VA/VHA performance goals in the absence of the Chief of Staff
The position offers excellent opportunities to interact with an outstanding and diverse house staff and faculty, to oversee basic and clinical research, and to help shape the dynamic evolution of an innovative VA Health Care System
Qualification
Required
Degree as a doctor of podiatric medicine, or its equivalent, from a school of podiatric medicine approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs
Completed, or currently completing, residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification
Currently hold, or will hold, a full and unrestricted license to practice Podiatry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia
Must be proficient in written and spoken English
All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment
Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959
You may be required to serve a probationary period
Subject to background/security investigation
Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process
Must pass pre-employment physical examination
Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP)
Preferred
Initial ABMS or AOA Board Certification in a Medical Specialty with an extensive background in clinical practice
Three or more years of clinical leadership experience at a VA Medical Center at the Service Chief level or above, or five or more years of executive clinical leadership experience outside VA
Demonstrable familiarity with healthcare laws, regulations, and accreditation standards (e.g., Joint Commission, VA policies)
Previous Assignment including temporary as Deputy Chief of Staff in any VA and/or Medical facility
Proven ability to lead complex healthcare initiatives, build collaborative relationships within and outside the organization, and effectively employ quality improvement processes
Experience in clinical research, publication, or academic leadership roles
