Supervisory General Supply Specialist (Instructor)

Responsibilities
Serves as first line supervisor over a group of subordinate instructors in the distribution and property disposal functions and career fields
Manages instructors in DLA functional courses such as Receiving, Warehousing, Storage, Issue, Property Disposal, Preservation/Packaging/Packing and Marking (PPP and M)
Manages instructors in DLA functional courses such as Hazardous Material, Inventory, Care of Supplies in Storage (COSIS), and Transportation. etc
Responsible for performing a variety of complex administrative initiatives, projects, and training programs involving aspects distribution and disposal operations
Participates in the training and dissemination of program and project policies, procedures, concepts, issues, and recommendations
Manages training delivery for functional operations covering inbound storage and outbound functions and procedures for distribution and disposal missions
Evaluates training courses and instructors in distribution and property disposal functional courses
Provides supply technical expertise and consultation for assigned distribution and disposal areas and subordinate employees

One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled
To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement
Creditable specialized experience includes: Directing training operations involving areas of training development, delivery, and performance improvement solutions for the agency's general supply workforce development
Training/instructing in the fields of Distribution and Property Disposal functions
Developing and delivering courses through various methods (e.g. traditional classroom training, distance learning, computer-based training, self-paced training, job aids)
Managing Distribution Operations training administrative systems to ensure data integrity, and provides comprehensive, reliable reporting of training metrics and training costs
Providing for in-house or contractor design, development, delivery, and evaluation of technical courses and non-technical courses that have Agency-wide requirements
Overseeing development and scheduling of all courses delivered or administered by the Branch for the Distribution Operations area
Reviewing the technical work on subordinate instructors to determine deficiencies of training in the areas of Distribution and Property Disposal
Providing expert technical advice on training initiatives to other agencies, as applicable
Delivering training using a wide variety of methods such as traditional classroom training, distance learning, computer-based training, self-paced training, and job aids, in the areas of distribution and disposal functions
