Responsibilities

Plans and schedules work assignments on a weekly to monthly basis for accomplishment within schedules and priorities established by higher level management
Analyzes work schedules, facilities, determines manpower, tooling, material requirements and methods to be used
Establishes deadlines, priorities and work sequences to be followed
Plans work assignments considering processes, availability of manpower and equipment, established deadlines and other work projects
Responsible for independently planning the use of the resources under their purview, redirecting those resources within the division as needed, and initiating timely replenishment of materials at work site
Indicates methods to be used, explains difficult technical requirements of tasks to be performed and demonstrates difficult or unusual work processes to subordinates
Monitors work in progress and inspects completed work to assure work order requirements, standards and deadlines are met. Identifies and investigates work related problems

Licenses/Certifications: Class A CDL with tank trailers, doubles, hazardous materials, and air brake restriction
Supervisory Probation: Required
Completion of Supervisory Certification Program: Required
Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Material Handling Equipment (MHE) license
Must be able to obtain and maintain licenses and/or certifications required by the installation, federal, state, and local laws
Must obtain and maintain Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and Class A CDL license, with Air Brake Endorsement
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social)
Physical Effort: The incumbent's work requires close attention, good vision and color perception, judgement of distances, reaction time, and hearing above average. Must pass a physical exam and be able to lift heavy chains, bars, hooks, etc., to make couplings between vehicle and towed equipment. Frequently handles objects weighing up to 20 pounds or more; and occasionally material weighing over 50 pounds or more
Working Conditions: Works inside and out of trucks in the outdoors in all types if weather conditions, rain, snow, sunshine and winds, withstand vibration, unpleasant odors, noise, and dampness. Drives in congested city roads, highways, and poorly maintained roads. May be exposed continually to hazards pertaining to the handling, hauling, and movement of heavy materials as well as moving objects, sharp edges, fumes, smog, and collision which could cause severe injuries or death. Worker may be exposed to unpackaged or packaged explosives, toxic, flammable, corrosive, or caustic materials
