Psychology Program Manager (Behavioral Health Consult)

USAJOBS is looking for a Psychology Program Manager within the Behavioral Health Department at the Boise VA Medical Center. The incumbent will oversee communication and coordination among behavioral health providers, lead interdisciplinary meetings, and monitor clinical and administrative outcomes to improve consult management processes.

Responsibilities

Oversees communication and coordination among BH providers regarding consult management in a manner consistent with VAMC policies
Leads interdisciplinary team meetings where BH consult management plans are developed, progress is tracked, and program policies and procedures are reviewed and maintained
Monitors and analyzes clinical and administrative outcomes using data-driven quality assurance processes, compiling the results and communicating the information back to BH leadership and program stakeholders
Develops, implements, and maintains processes and mechanisms for reviewing and scheduling BH consults to best utilize clinical resources
Actively stays abreast of professional and technical development in the field of VHA consult management and communicates relevant information to all involved parties
Serves as the main point of contact for BH providers with questions or concerns regarding consult management processes
Provides behavioral health assessment, conducting evaluations of biopsychosocial functioning based upon available data, clinical interview, self-report measures, and other structured techniques
Provides a full range of behavioral health interventions, to include group and individual psychotherapy and psychological testing, consistent with training and expertise, with an emphasis on evidenced-based interventions found to be effective with specific presenting problems
Complies with all medical record documentation procedures, including timeliness standards for documentation and proper check-out procedures (e.g. entering diagnostic and procedure codes)
Serves as a consultant to other medical center staff and trainees to assist in their formulation of the emotional/behavioral characteristics and appropriate treatment expectations regarding the Veterans they serve
May serve on medical center committees or task forces related to diagnosis, assessment, and/or treatment issues associated with the Behavioral Health programs
May represent the medical center at professional/program/community events and on committees
May serve on service, medical center, VISN, and/or national committees or task forces related to assigned program
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Be a citizen of the United States
Psychologists must be proficient in spoken and written English
Have a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) at the time the program was completed
Have a doctoral degree in any area of psychology and successfully complete a re-specialization program meeting specific conditions
Have a doctoral degree awarded between 1951 and 1978 from a regionally-accredited institution, with a dissertation primarily psychological in nature
Have successfully completed a professional psychology internship training program that was accredited by APA or CPA
Hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia
At least three years of experience as a professional psychologist, with at least one year equivalent to the GS-13 grade level
Ability to organize work, set priorities, delegate tasks, and meet multiple deadlines
Knowledge of and ability to utilize evidence based practices and clinical practice guidelines appropriately
Ability to deal effectively with individuals or groups
Skill in managing and directing the work of others to accomplish program goals and objectives
Ability to translate management goals and objectives into well-coordinated and controlled work operations
Ability to establish and monitor production and performance priorities and standards
Ability to analyze organizational and operational problems and to develop and implement solutions

Preferred

The incumbent will focus on both clinical and administrative aspects of Behavioral Health consults, such as standard operating procedures and process improvement
The incumbent will assess outcomes using data-driven processes (e.g. database/dashboard review) and implement strategies for improvement based on data analysis
