Assistant Director of Human Resources

Responsibilities
Manage a team of Human Resources (HR) specialists servicing multiple DLA and DoD customers
Provide expert technical advice on a wide variety of human resources issues
Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement policies, guidance, procedures and HR programs to include multiple HR disciplines
Ensure compliance with overarching policies serviced agencies, DoD, OPM and Executive Orders as well as consonance with basic laws
Serve as a DLA representative to negotiate service agreements with DoD serviced customers
Manage metrics established within the service agreements and recommend changes/deviations when required
Ensure that culture within the organization is healthy and recommend and implement programs and events to strengthen the overall organizations climate, recognizing that a strong culture climate is instrumental in an effective organization
Write authoritative documents, decision papers, and correspondence
Develop and deliver briefings on controversial and non-controversial HR matters
Serve as a focal point in organizational culture issues

One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position
To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector
Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement
Creditable specialized experience includes leading a team of HR professionals to meet metrics while providing HR services and customer service support
Evaluating HR services for efficiency and effectiveness and recommending improvements
Writing agency level HR documents, briefings, decision papers and correspondence
Briefing senior executives, organization leadership, and HR professionals to convey the principles for assigned HR program areas
