Responsibilities

Repair Electrical Equipment to put in operational condition
Repair AC/DC motors to operational condition
Repair electrical components in accordance with specifications in technical manuals to operational condition
Conduct tests to diagnose malfunctions in electrical equipment and components
Repair and test power generation equipment
Solder terminals and wires to a terminal to connect to the part being repaired
Build or rebuild wiring harnesses
Use computer programs to review technical data, order parts, and track programs
Interpret technical publications and electrical schematics to determine where the parts belong
Isolate faults in electrical components and devices using drawings, schematics, manuals, etc
Ensure electrical test equipment and instruments are utilized in accordance with current safety practice and procedures
Diagnose problems to determine repairs for malfunctions in electrical components and devices
Troubleshoot motor control centers

Required

Ability to do the work of a(n) Electrical Equipment Repairer without more than normal supervision
Experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling a variety of complex electrical devices such as automatic alternator synchronizing equipment, voltage regulating equipment, generators, actuators, switching and control panels, junction boxes, AC and DC motors, electrical harnesses, transformers, and power amplifiers
Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
Possession of a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles or the ability to obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License
Ability to perform shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations
Ability to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer
Ability to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time, and perform constant kneeling, crouching, bending, stooping, and walking
Ability to work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, and in close quarters
Ability to diagnose problems to determine repairs for malfunctions in electrical components and devices
Ability to interpret technical publications and electrical schematics to determine where the parts belong
