Information Technology Specialist (macOS)

Responsibilities

Providing on-site and remote technical support for all Apple Laptops and Workstations, addressing support requests using strong macOS technical skills to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues, ensuring minimal disruption to end-users
Supporting common macOS applications such as, but not limited to, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro), Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), and web browsers (Safari, Chrome, Edge)
Administering and maintaining the organization's macOS environment, including system imaging, patching, certificate management, and Active Directory authentication. Implement and enforce macOS cybersecurity hardening guidelines to ensure the security and integrity of all systems
Ensuring compliance with organizational standards and security policies using terminal commands and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, AppleScript) to automate repetitive tasks, streamline system administration processes, and improve overall efficiency
Communicating and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity, Windows desktop management, and field support, to ensure seamless integration of macOS within the enterprise environment

You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this position

Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years

CBP follows the DHS Drug-Free Workplace Plan for drug testing procedures
Individuals qualifying based on experience must have Information Technology (IT) related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, Problem Solving
You must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience described below to qualify based on experience
Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible
Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process
Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 10/30/2025
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment
You must possess a valid state driver's license at the time of appointment
This position may require the incumbent to be on call 24 hours per day, seven days per week
This position may require uncontrollable, unscheduled overtime in excess of the 40-hour work week
This position involves periods of standing, crawling, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching to access and install computer equipment
You may be required to lift and transport computer equipment weighing up to 30 pounds
