Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive, patient-centered medical care including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute, chronic, and preventive health needs within specialty
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective, and coordinated care
Responds to acute emergency interventions, working closely in consultation with members of other medical departments as deemed appropriate by the clinical problem
Perform specialty-specific diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or surgical procedures consistent with training and credentialing
Contribute to teaching, mentorship, and professional development of medical staff, students, and trainees
Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical innovation initiatives to advance healthcare delivery
Qualification
Required
U.S. Citizenship is required
Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959
Board Certification in the specialty of position applied for
Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
At least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting
For GS-14: 4 years of graduate training in the specialty of the position to be filled or equivalent experience and training
For GS-15: 5 years of graduate training in the specialty of the position to be filled or equivalent experience and training
Verification of board certification in physician specialty of announcement applied OR if board certification lapsed or completed an accredited residency program (in excess of 3 years) applicant must provide verification of active pursuit to become board certified with an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) member board
Background Investigation: If you are selected for this vacancy, you must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint check and background investigation
