Responsibilities

Operate ophthalmic imaging taking intraocular color photographs and using optical coherence tomography (OCT) images

Perform optometric/ophthalmic screenings

Assist with ophthalmic clinic laser/surgical procedures

Coordinate, manage, train and supervise day-to-day activities of the ophthalmic clinic technicians

Manage property and inventory for the ophthalmology clinic

Coordinate maintenance of existing equipment and facilitating purchase of new equipment

Perform formal visual field testing

Required

One year of specialized experience which includes 1) measuring a patient's vision, eye pressure, eye muscle function, muscle movement, and pupil reactions; 2) assisting during eye procedures and surgery; 3) collecting patients' medical histories, maintaining equipment, and clarifying concepts to patients; and 4) operating ophthalmic imaging

Two full years of graduate level education or a master's degree in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as optometry or ophthalmology

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%

Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation

This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons

This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position

Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact

This position may require the incumbent to have Tuberculosis testing

All applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment

This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random drug testing

This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
