This position is located at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the Acute Outpatient Division. The Out of Operating Room (OOOR) Anesthesia Registered Nurse (RN) Coordinator is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. Incumbent will influence care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

The OOOR Anesthesia RN Coordinator works directly with anesthesia to optimize utilization of services
The OOOR Anesthesia RN Coordinator reviews and schedules requests for anesthesia among multiple disciplines, taking into account historical procedural times, hours of operations, clinical resources, and staffing
Development, implementation, and evaluations for quarterly metrics and makes recommendations to improve anesthesia coverage
Works directly with anesthesia partners and clinical coordinators
Supports colleagues and other nurses to provide safe, quality nursing care
Responsible for evaluating outcomes of evidence-based decisions and practice changes for individuals, groups, and populations
Responsible for documenting broad and complex outcomes at the program or service level

Required

English Language Proficiency
Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency
Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia

Perioperative and procedural scheduling experience
