ASSISTANT COMMANDER FOR SUPPLY CHAIN PERFORMANCE AND INTEGRATION

The Department of the Navy is seeking an Assistant Commander for Supply Chain Performance and Integration within the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP). This role requires the incumbent to provide leadership and oversight for supply chain management, ensuring effective policy and performance across the Navy's supply chain.

Responsibilities

You will provide leadership, direction, and direct oversight as chief proponent for supply chain management and related services
You will oversee supporting processes such as inventory management, integrated logistics support (ILS), Fleet and industrial support, material distribution, warehousing, information technology, and cybersecurity to support Navy readiness
You will set the supply chain vision for NAVSUP's future enterprise and its overall management philosophy while providing continuing assessment of NAVSUP's supply chain strategies, goals, support efforts, and overall system performance
You will redirect efforts and resources to foster success in meeting Navy objectives and Commander's intent
You will provide policy and direction that results in expenditure of over $30 billion over the Future Year Defense Plan (FYDP) for spares buys and repair in support of aviation, surface, and subsurface readiness
You will have oversight responsibility for a $32 billion Navy material inventory
You will serve as the enterprise focal point for ensuring NAVSUP supply chain accountability and visibility. As such you will maintain an enterprise-wide program in support of the Commander to meet DoD and DON requirements in this area
You will direct formulation of policies, plans and procedures to evaluate execution of the command's supply chain performance
You will represent NAVSUP's supply chain management and related services interests at the office of CNO, SECNAV and SECWAR as required as the lead in Navy ERP Program

New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-278e within 30 days of appointment
You will be required to sign the Reassignment Rights and Obligations Agreement as a condition of appointment into the SES in accordance with DoD Directive 1403.03
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
May be required to successfully complete a 1-year SES probationary period
Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency
If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
This position is a designated Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). You must sign a three-year tenure agreement prior to assuming the position unless a tenure waiver is approved
This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes

TQ 1. Extensive experience in planning, designing and executing policy and processes in support of supply chain and related services and associated measurement systems to determine successful performance
TQ 2. Current knowledge of and experience supporting acquisition lifecycle sustainment planning to include exploitation of sustainment planning opportunities in early milestone development
TQ 3. Extensive experience in developing and managing logistics support systems and managing a range of information technology and information system functions
