Staff Psychologist - Substance Use Disorder Program

Responsibilities
Unless assigned collateral duties outside of clinical care, the staff will devote their time to direct patient care. This includes face to face patient contact, documentation and team treatment meetings
Provides a full range of psychological assessment services and diagnoses of mental disorders, particularly for complex or unusually difficult patients. This includes the routine use of psychological testing
Provides education to patients, family members, and significant others
Within the frame work of the SUDP, the psychologist provides comprehensive, evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, including individual, family and group psychotherapy
Provides consultation to professional staff within the medical center and to community providers, concerning clinical assessment findings and appropriate treatment plans for patients
Develops, implements, and documents the psychotherapeutic treatment plan for an assigned caseload of patients, including prompt completion of clinical reminders and other documentations that relate to performance measures
Functions independently as a member of the Medical Staff, with full clinical privileges. Assumes complete professional responsibility for his/her clinical assessment findings, patient care decisions, and documentation
Adheres to operational policies and procedures for the treatment team, established by the SUDP Medical Director and Lead/Chief Psychologist
Assist the SUDP Medical Director in the execution of ongoing program evaluation and data-driven quality improvement projects to monitor the effectiveness of the clinical program
Facilitates liaisons with other health care programs in order to effectively coordinate services
Complies with national and local performance measures, including timely health care screening and completion of clinical reminders for all patients
Attends service-wide Mental Health Staff meetings and other specific program meetings at the direction of the SUDP Medical Director and Chief of Mental Health Service
Complies with peer review/case presentation procedures and attends peer review meetings when called

United States Citizenship
Education: Have a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) at the time the program was completed
Internship: Have successfully completed a professional psychology internship training program that was accredited by APA or CPA at the time the program was completed
Licensure: Hold a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia
