Responsibilities

Serves as a senior design manager responsible for managing the efficient and effective coordination and accomplishment of the planning, scoping, development, budget development, and contract oversight of highly significant designs
Applies an extensive knowledge of management concepts, principles, methods and practices as well as knowledge of methods, practices, and processes of engineering and science disciplines
Responsible for design management which involves difficult or unusual planning, scheduling, negotiation and coordination, and /or require substantial modification or revision of standard guides, precedents, methods and techniques
Coordinates with other project delivery team members in the planning, design, cost engineering, construction acquisition, and environmental considerations
Acts as a mediator in resolving complex and/or controversial technical issues arising during design or construction between elements in engineering, design, contracting, and clients
Reviews, modifies, and approves A-E payment invoices based on progress, deliverables, and milestones achieved
Reviews design progress, measuring performance and taking necessary corrective actions to maintain agreed upon schedule and cost

Required

Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in engineering or architecture from an accredited institution
Current active (non-expired) state Driver's License
Current active (non-expired) Professional Engineer License or Registered Architecture License
One year of specialized experience which includes managing the preparation of engineering and design products, preparing independent government estimates in support of Architect Engineer (AE) negotiations, and providing technical guidance or advice related to design engineering
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. in the regular performance of duties
