Responsibilities
Providing high-quality care, increasing access, and improving outcomes for Veterans
Being responsible for clinic administration in compliance with VHA, Medical Center and Dental Service directives, policies, and procedures
Providing clinical supervision, treatment planning, and educational activities related to the Dental Service AEGD-1 Residency Program and to dental staff assigned to their clinic location as needed
Diagnosing pathological or irregular oral conditions
Collaborating with other specialists, such as restorative dentists and orthodontists to plan treatments
Conducting research on defects, diseases, and disorders affecting the oral and/or facial regions
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine resulting from a course of education in dentistry
Completed, or currently completing, a residency program in general practice or specialty, or comparable experience as a dentist actively involved in treating medically compromised patients
Currently hold, or will hold, a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
Must be proficient in written and spoken English
Must pass a pre-employment physical examination
Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP)
