Information Technology Specialist (System Administrator)

Responsibilities
Perform system administrative duties to ensure optimal functioning for the Windows local servers and network
Perform the maintenance of server files, databases, server installed software and associated areas
Maintain and monitor the security access management accounts for each of the servers
Administer software management package that provides a single point of delivery and mass distribution of software packages, updates, etc
Validate, monitor and maintain backup and archive systems to ensure restoration capability for all systems
Qualification
Required
One year of specialized experience which includes performing one or more of the following installing new or modified hardware or operating systems or applications software; managing information technology accounts or network rights; performing diagnostic testing or issues; assisting in evaluating computer hardware or software issues and assisting in providing updates to software systems
Specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience which demonstrates each of the four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management
Ability to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact
Satisfactorily complete the Information Assurance certification within 6 months of employment and maintain the required certification/recertification
Benefits
Federal employees in Alaska are currently entitled to receive a 1.49% Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary.
