USAJOBS is seeking a Dentist for the Veterans Health Administration at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center. The role involves providing direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, performing dental procedures, and potentially taking on administrative duties.

Responsibilities
Dentist providers will perform only those procedures for which they hold privilege as granted by the Battle Creek VA Medical Center
Dentist providers provide direct patient care for inpatients and outpatients in an inpatient and/or outpatient setting as assigned
Dentist providers provide consultative services for patients referred from other outpatient services/clinics, inpatient wards and/or urgent care/emergent care areas of the VA Medical Center or VA Clinics
Dentist providers are responsible for providing dental care for patients of a variety of age groups and medical conditions
Dental providers will be proficient in diagnosis, restorative procedures, removable and fixed prosthodontic procedures, periodontal procedures, endodontic procedures, exodontia, minor oral surgical procedures, and implantology
Dentists will have a practical working knowledge of pharmacology and dental management of medical diagnoses
Dentist providers may be assigned administrative duties
Qualification
Required
Degree of doctor of dental surgery or dental medicine resulting from a course of education in dentistry. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed
Completed, or you are currently completing, a residency program in general practice or specialty, or comparable experience as a dentist actively involved in treating medically compromised patients
Currently hold, or will hold, a current, full and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia

All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment
Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959
Must be proficient in written and spoken English

Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process
Must pass pre-employment physical examination
Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP)
You may be required to serve a probationary period

Preferred
Residency experience, minimum 5 years clinical experience, VA or special populations experience, currently practicing full-time
