Mission Support Specialist (Logistics)
The United States Border Patrol, part of the Department of Homeland Security, is seeking a Mission Support Specialist (Logistics) located in Havre, Montana. Responsibilities
Managing the sector and/or station fleet program to include overseeing the ordering, receiving, inventorying, transferring, and excessing fleet vehicles
Managing the sector and/or station property program to include acquisition, receiving, transferring, excessing, reutilization, repairing, disposal, and retiring of various types of property
Performing on-going mentoring, training, and guidance to peers, colleagues, employees and supervisors; assisting with developing and recommending solutions to a range of logistical operations and technical issues to evaluate and improve services and processes
Performing other mission support related duties for the sector and/or station to include scheduling travel, processing personnel actions, analyzing the budget, and serving as a point of contact for emerging trends affecting operations
Qualification
Required
You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for this position
Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service
Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years
All pre-employment processes will be conducted in English
You may be required to pass a background investigation
Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process
Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 10/31/2025
Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet the requirement for specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as evaluating expenditures and invoices, developing protocols for property and equipment acquisition, conducting property inventories, identifying and tracking sensitive property, and processing lost, stolen, destroyed or missing property and equipment
Background Investigation: U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is a federal law enforcement agency that requires all applicants to undergo a thorough background investigation prior to employment
There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP
All employees new to the federal government must serve a one year probationary period during the first year of his/her initial permanent federal appointment to determine fitness for continued employment
