Supervisory Interdisciplinary (Supervisory Senior Project Engineer)

Responsibilities

Provides technical advice and assistance to field personnel on reported or observed construction problems
Participates in pre-work conferences with contractors to inform them of field construction requirements
Arranges for and participates in acceptance inspection of completed facilities
Ensures continuous inspection of construction by quality assurance representatives
Manages and participates in the contract modification and claims process
Manages and performs office engineering functions
Serves as first line supervisor

Required

Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in engineering
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
Possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles
Obtain and maintain a Professional Engineering license within 24 months of entrance on duty
Obtain and maintain a Government Travel Card
Obtain and maintain a Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act for Administrative Contracting Officers warrant within 36 months of entrance on duty
Complete the 40 hour and 8 hour OSHA training courses for Hazardous and Toxic Waste
One year of specialized experience managing/administering construction projects along with supporting infrastructure for manufacturing production
One year of specialized experience conducting field inspections of construction projects to assess contractor's work performance and/or compliance with contract documents
One year of specialized experience preparing or reviewing requests for information, submittals, schedules, payments, scopes of work, cost estimates, and/or analysis of contractor proposals
One year of specialized experience conducting negotiations and/or meetings with contractors, stakeholders, or other project team members
