Tier II Field Engineer - Des Moines

Responsibilities
Apply system analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications
Establish the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, and defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards
Design and implement new solutions and improve the resilience of the current environment
Perform data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments
Secure network systems by establishing and enforcing policies, defining access, & monitoring access
Support and administer firewall environments in line with IT security policy
Configure routing and switching equipment, hosted IP voice services, and firewalls
Provide remote support, troubleshooting, & fault finding for both on-site engineers as well as customers
Perform service for products from different manufacturers and vendors
Manage, Create, Close, and Update, tickets in the assigned PSA system
Perform preventive maintenance and modifications on equipment
Qualification
Required
Experience with or knowledge of operating systems, current equipment and technologies, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, systems performance-monitoring tools, active directories, virtualization, HTTP traffic, content delivery, and caching
Experience in project management, application design and integration, and cloud computing (specifically Microsoft Azure)
Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery
Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
Excellent communication skills
BS/BA in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; professional certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) is a plus)
